ESF – Exploratory Workshop

One of today’s major challenges in quantum physics and technology is to reach the same outstanding level of control obtained for cold neutral atoms and ions with matter at the micro-scale and nano-scale. This workshop will explore hybrid mechanical approaches for matter manipulation that involve interfacing well-controlled atomic-scale quantum emitters with high-quality micro-fabricated resonators. A key aim of the workshop is to bring together scientists from the diverse fields that are now contributing to developing new ideas and approaches for the realization of controlled quantum matter, and to identify new research directions and applications in basic science and Information and Communication Technologies.
